Inside Kai's World

Legend tells that for one night a year The Mermaid Lagoon is safe for mortal travelers, they ask only that you make an offering to The Sea, and dance with them. It has happened before, and it will happen again. . .
At the 4th annual Mermaid Lagoon Ocean Benefit we will return to our Neverland roots with Peter Pan and Captain Hook at the Red Lotus Room. Come away for an evening of performance, dance, revelry, and song as we dig deep to give back to our oceans. For a second year the Lagoon mermaids have teamed up with Ocean Lifeline, and hope to bring a feminine, artistic edge to the plight of the world ocean and its creatures. Join them as we remember our connection to the sea, and celebrate its enchantment, mystery, and beauty in a glowing lagoon full of dancing mermaids, projected ocean images, and bio-luminescent sea life. This year will be contributing to Orca Network's 'Free Lolita' campaign which hopes to help enact a retirement plan for a very old & lonely orca living in an illegal pool in the Miami Seaquarium. We will also be donating to Our Spaces-an organization dedicated to protecting international waters rich in biodiversity and sea life.
Dress: Inspired by The Sea, Neverland, and all things luminous.
Friday, November 8th: Doors at 9, Show at 10

The Butterflies are going to Burning Man! For those that haven't heard, Burning Man is one of the world's largest arts and music festivals, held annually in the Nevada desert. It's a truly incredible event, drawing nearly 60,000 people - they come together from all over the world to create a city of dreams that rises spectacularly from the desert floor. What better place for all 7 of our Butterfly Queens to appear with their majestic wings, dancing in a desert sunrise?
For those lucky enough to be attending this year, be sure to remember this time: Friday morning, August 30th, right at sunrise in front of this year's pyramid Temple of Whollyness. This is the *only* moment of the event the Butterfly Queens will emerge briefly from the dream-world, to dance for everyone and share their magick, so you definitely won't want to miss it! One of the songs the butterflies will perform to is Kai's new single 'Change'--which she wrote at sunrise in the very same place last year. They will be arriving in truly impressive style - on the deck of a massive, absolutely incredible Airpusher's Steampunk Airship.
We will also have some new Queens joining us! Many thanks to this incarnation of our Butterflies: Anya Sapozhnikova and Kae Burke from Lady Circus, Claudine Soulsister, K Jae Boheme-Spins, Ali Luminescent, Kai Altair, and Madeleine Belle.
And for those of you that won't be there, not to worry - we will certainly be capturing the moment with gorgeous photos.
(Our very special thanks also to our amazing producer for this 'event', Stefan Spins.)
